The scientists were drawn by commission at meetings and conferences throught Europe in the late 1930s and during the postwar period in the United States. Included are drawings of Richard Courant, Philipp Frank, Fritz Haber, Otto Hahn, Werner Heisenberg, Arthur Korn, Walther Nernst, Jean Perrin, Richard Von Mises, Norbert Wiener, and Hermann Weyl.
